Date with Logan

Before I continue catching up with the million things we did in April I had to write a few things about today. Logan and I went out on a lunch date today. He really wanted to go out to the Spaghetti Factory to try spaghetti and meatballs. So I was excited to have time to "talk" with Logan about school, sports, and all of the things he is interested in. Of course that lasted until the waiter came to ask what we would like to drink. Then we started playing tic tac toe, having staring contests, and thumb wars. Then the party really heated up when Logan said, "Hey we can tell knock knock jokes."

Mom you having something green in your teeth. I think it's a piece of lettuce. Right there mom , no on the other side.

He went on and on and on. And we just laughed and had fun. It was a pretty fun date.

Dating has been on my mind the last few days because Tom and I had to go back and read my journal from when we met to resolve a bet. I lost the bet, but we did end up laughing so hard that we couldn't go to bed for hours. I LOVE MY BOYS!

April Conference

I had the opportunity to attend April general conference this year. This was the first time I had ever attended conference in person. I couldn't believe how amazing the whole weekend was from start to finish. My dad called me a week before to tell me he was going to be called as the General Sunday School President. I really wanted to be there for the sustaining so I hopped on a plane and went to Utah. (My amazing husband held down the fort) It was truly wonderful to be in the conference center as the prophet entered the room. The amount of love, beauty, peace, and joy that I felt is indescribable. It was also great to see my family and have the opportunity to eat and visit with them. I missed my boys and hubby but I am so grateful that I was able to be there and enjoy that with my mom and dad. I am so blessed to have their example in my life!

Logan's Flowers

These are the flowers that let me know Logan loves me. At least once a week he will notice some flowers and pick them for me. I love putting them by the kitchen sink to remind me of his sweet side. On Sundays, as I come down stairs all dressed up, he will say, "Mooom you look beeeautiful today." These are the little things that make my day.

Batiquitos Lagoon

Batiquitos Lagoon has been a great find. We used to walk the La Jolla Cove on Sundays and I think we found our new spot. The entire area is protected for wildlife and bird migration. It is so nice to have a spot of peace and quiet right next to I-5 and development.

Hanging out at Home

So the other day I put out a bowl of water and gave Gavin a couple of measuring cups and he was good to go. Other than this kid's excema, I don't know if they make a more easy going laid back kid.

On early out day we have had our friends Zoom and Brave over to play. One day we decided to get out the camping tent and make a fort in the Living Room. It was complete with separated areas with fun things to do.

Bowling. I could set these pins up all day and he would still be going strong. Gavin loves bowling in the hallway, on the Wii, or at the alley. I think it is the ultimate cause and effect for a two year old.

Sports

Our lives are revolving around sports lately. I am so glad I had three older brothers who taught me everything I know. The boys are getting to an age where I not only LOVE watching them but I LOVE playing with them!

We went to Boomers to celebrate Logan's good grades for Kindergarten.
Logan has been playing in a Basketball league at the YMCA. He has his niche of rebounding and putting it back in. His coaches have been very impressed with his boxing out skills. I was feeling pretty good.:)
These are my mad tennis players. We used to have tennis courts at our old place and Tom and I tried it out a few times. Ever since we got the Wii the boys have become tennis pros. We have a local park with some great courts. And every once in awhile there are some "real pros" on the other court. Anyone who can hit it back and forth is a pro and people usually enjoy the flattery because Logan just can't keep from complimenting them.
